The Professional Side
James grew up in seven different states across the country. He attended Twinsburg High School (Twinsburg, OH) and was a three sport athlete in football, wrestling, and ice hockey. Following in his parents footsteps, he served seven years in the U.S. Army, as both a radar operator and forward observer. He discovered dentistry as a profession while studying at the University of Florida. Throughout most of his studies, he worked as a dental assistant at a local office.
Dr. Piner graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor of science in nutrition and attended dental school at The Ohio State University. He was an active member of the Psi Omega dental fraternity and assisted in planning numerous community outreach efforts throughout his four year membership. James enjoys teaching patients about any aspect of dentistry they would like to know more about. He will take time to review and discuss any questions a patient may have about their dental needs because he believes the more a patient understands, the more effectively they can work together as a team to handle their care.
The Personal Side
While not working, he enjoys reading, cooking, days near a body of water, but most of all, spending time with his two Australian Shepherds, Sydney and Tank.
