Dental Crowns and Bridges

Dental crowns and bridges are effective restorations when teeth are lost or severely damaged. They look natural and offer much-needed assistance with chewing and speaking. At our clinic, we use high-quality materials to ensure that the crowns and bridges last as long as possible and provide exceptional performance.

We ensure that your dental crowns and bridges match your natural teeth and function properly. Typically, you will need to make a minimum of two visits when receiving dental crowns or bridges. During the initial appointment, we will take molds of your teeth and send them to a dental lab. Once the crown or bridge is ready, you can return to have it fitted to ensure that it fits properly.

  • What is a dental crown?

Dental crowns are used for large fillings, root canal therapy or cosmetic purposes. They restore damaged teeth, replace missing teeth with implants, and provide support for dental bridges. Crowns require no special treatment and can be brushed and flossed as normal.

  • What is a dental bridge?

Dental bridges are a common solution for patients who have lost one or more teeth. They are called bridges because they consist of one or more replacement teeth that bridge the gap created by the missing teeth. Dental bridges can be secured using either abutment crowns on each end or permanently installed precision metal mechanisms. We custom design each component of a dental bridge to ensure that it looks natural and provides the desired performance.

  • How do temporary dental crowns work?

Dental crowns are a common procedure in dentistry, and the process usually involves several steps. Firstly, your dentist will take an impression of your upper and lower teeth to create a replica of your teeth. This replica is used to ensure a permanent crown fits securely on the base of the tooth without allowing bacteria to enter underneath the tooth structure.

After taking the impression, most dentists send it to a dental laboratory to create a permanent dental crown. However, shaping the tooth base below the crown can leave the tooth vulnerable during the period between the impression being made and the permanent crown being delivered. To protect the tooth during this period, dentists use temporary dental crowns. These temporary crowns ensure that the tooth is safeguarded until the permanent crown can be fitted.

  • How much does a dental crown cost?

We aim to provide high-quality dental care that’s affordable for our patients at each of our locations in Cincinnati, Batavia, and Lebanon, Ohio. Out of pocket cost for any procedure depends on your insurance coverage at the time of the procedure.
